On March 11, a 9.0-magnitude earthquake struck the northeastern coast of Japan, causing widespread and serious damage to infrastructure and to human life. A massive earthquake-triggered tsunami followed, washing away large parts of several coastal cities.

The worst affected areas were Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima and Ibaraki prefectures. The subsequent and ongoing crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant continues to pose an additional, and grave, challenge to an already serious situation.

Till today, a full three weeks after a devastating earthquake and resulting tsunami hit Japan. They still need help and support, let us continue to pray for Japan! がんばって!
