INTRODUCTION

The Mentorship Program is an initiative by AMSA Malaysia as a registry to expose members to research opportunities opened by independent researchers. Through this program, AMSA aims to be a means of connection through which members can take up research offered by researchers, and vice versa if researchers want to take up members for their research.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The 2 criteria determining the participant’s eligibility in certain research papers would be their research experience and time commitment. Applicants will be given a list of recruiting research projects tailored based on their research experience and time commitment to choose from. The details of the research listed include the topic, paper type, study design, jobscope, applicants needed, credentials, and their respective researchers in charge. Applicants can only choose (1) research project offered. Upon choosing their preferred research of interest, the 1st step of matching is that the criteria that researchers specify must match the applicant’s criteria in order for the application and recruitment to match. The 2nd step would be that the applicant must read and sign a consent form explicitly stating their obligation towards their responsibilities and their role in the research. After a successful matching, the researcher will be given the applicant’s contact, and vice versa. Follow-ups and feedback via a google form would be made after a month to check on the research project. Promotions would also be made during that time.
